2026 Pre-Session Update

During the remainder of this calendar year, the Florida Legislature will begin pre-session committee hearings ahead of the actual 2026 session according to the following schedule:

 - October 13 – 17, 2025
 - November 3 – 7, 2025
 - November 17 – 21, 2025
 - December 1 – 5, 2025
 - December 8 – 12, 2025

The opening day of the 2026 regular legislative session is January 13, 2026. Throughout the end of 2025, your FOA team continues to fundraise and meet to educate and support legislators that understand the importance and role profession plays in the eye healthcare landscape. To these ends, Sarah Langley (FOA Executive Director) and Dr. Michelle Levin (FOA PAC Chair), are working tirelessly to gather funds for Optometry PAC.

Without your support, Florida Optometry does not keep the fighting chance it deserves to continue to work to protect and enhance our profession. The FOA 2026 legislative strategy will be different than last year, but rest assured we will fight to continue to kill harmful legislation and promote and support positive legislation.
